The spread of COVID-19 has caused public disturbances over face mask allocation. Steve Hsu-Sung Kuo, President of National Yang-Ming University, recently sent a message to all teachers, students, and employees to cooperate with the government’s promotion of “giving masks to those in need.” If COVID-19 is contracts, he would compensate the individual with NT$1 million.

Speaking about the purpose of the open letter, Steve Hsu-Sung Kuo, a former Director of the CDC, said that while it is not necessary for everyone not wear masks, priority allocation must be adhered if shortages do occur. Are masks really insufficient? From the perspective of healthcare professionals, there is definitely enough. However, the public believes there is definitely not enough.
