Chunghwa Telecom, Chiao-Tung University, and Yang-Ming University today signed a letter of intent for industry-university technology cooperation to jointly develop 5G AIoT smart medical applications. Next year, the “Smart Sleep” program will be official launched, allowing the collection of physiological data at home and improve the pain points of sleeping in the hospital. 

Chunghwa Telecom, Chiao-Tung University, and Yang-Ming University signed a letter of intent for industry-university technology cooperation, combining the respective advantages of three parties: Chiao-Tung University in electronic information and communication technology, Yang-Ming University in advanced medical care and clinical practice, and Chunghwa Telecom as Taiwan’s leading telecommunications provider.

At this stage, the three parties are aiming to increase technical cooperation to develop smart medical care solutions. Project examples include, the “Smart Home Sleep Healthcare Program” being developed in joint collaboration between Yang-Ming University Digital Medical Center and Chunghwa Telecom, and healthcare cloud network enabling the collection of ECGs blood oxygen physiological information for at-home patients to help with diagnosis and treatment analysis on an AI smart sleep platform.
